Removing Facebook from your devices does not means you have remove all communication with Facebook. Other applications that you use and web pages that you visit may be using the Facebook API, and so, passing data to Facebook. Adding a DNS sinkhole helps eliminate some of that communication.
It is well known that some Samsung phones come with the Facebook app installed in a way that prevents it to be uninstalled. Unfortunately, this is not unique to Samsung or to Facebook.
